A Movie Resolution

What’s your New Year’s resolution this year? More time spent with loved ones and becoming happier and healthier rank at the top of many resolutions’ lists. We vow to work less, help others more, quit smoking, etc. while becoming the greatest all-around human beings possible. Strangely, I rarely see a resolution to watch more movies. Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we all did? Don’t we value life more after witnessing the destitute or just plain Les Miserable? We’d certainly be better citizens if we had Lincoln’s fighting spirit or Rise of the Guardians protective nature. A brief preview of Django Unchained made me appreciate the chains that don’t bind me. Sure, The Hobbit (loves) An Unexpected Journey (and over $200 million box office bucks) while globetrotting Jack Reacher seems to have the world at his fingertips, but who needs the constant traveling headaches? Isn’t life more comfortable from a cushy theater seat?

This year, I resolve to find inspiration in the world of never-ending stories, to take journeys of the imaginative kind and to spend a little more time with larger-than-life characters (all while becoming a pleasant, physically fit and loving humanitarian).

How ‘bout you?

From seaside days to starry, resolute nights, hope your resolutions tell the best story!
