The Characters Came out to Party

“Action is character.”
“Never confuse a single defeat as a final defeat.” F. Scott Fitzgerald

Action star extraordinaire Tony Stark defeated new-in-town multimillionaire Jay Gatsby as “The Iron Man (3)” held steady once again at the #1 spot at the North American box office, where $72.5 million was added to his already lucrative account. “The Great Gatsby,” meanwhile, found fame waiting for him at the #2 locale, with a $51.1 million contribution to aid the festivities (lavish parties don’t pay for themselves). No “Pain & (no) Gain” was experienced for our current body builders this weekend at #3 with $5 million. Tyler Perry, and his ever-expanding group of entertaining “Peeples,” showed up at the corner of #4 for their first week as invited guests at the Hollywood shindig with $4.9 million. “42” reasons to watch a baseball legend in the making were found at #5 with $4.7 million.
Character was king this weekend, as were action stars, personable “Peeples,” literary legends, baseball myths and the mighty Mark Wahlberg! Greatness found a place on “42” Hollywood lane (also known as movie-loving Anytown, U.S.A.).
From seaside days to starry nights, may your journey into the world of big-budget blockbusters and character-driven creations take you far and wide (and end happily at your local multiplex)…
