Lost in Space Continues to find the top Box Office Place

“Gravity” is in no grave danger of boring moviegoers, as it continues to take up scintillating space at the #1 spot at the domestic box office with $44.3 million. The courageous “Captain Phillips,” facing peril of the Somali kind, made a killing of his own kind at the #2 spot with $26 million. Those with an appetite for lighthearted, colorful entertainment found the skies “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” appetizing to be ignored from the #3 spot with $14.2 million. The action-oriented “Machete Kills” the rest of the cinematic competition from the deadly #4 spot with $3.8 million. A “Runner (and, you guessed it, another) Runner” took time out from online gambling and ran straight to the tropical land of #5 with $3.7 million.
Lost astronauts, kidnapped captains, hungry animation and a killing machination; a weekend at the nearby movie theater promised something for every discriminating movie lover.
