Smooth Sailing Entertainment

Movie lovers are hatching the perfect “Escape Plan” this weekend, one in which Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have starring roles. Their ingenious plan, unfortunately, may not be shrewd (or entertaining) enough to sail past the cargo carrying everyone’s favorite hero “Captain Phillips.” Luckily, our OTHER box-office heroes, George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, have left enough space under our movie world’s “Gravity,” where all are welcome. Of course, they probably should have reconsidered letting an unstable “Carrie” into the movie mix, who never really fit in ANYWHERE (but hopes the upcoming Halloween events will inspire psycho lovers and prom rejects to give her yet another chance). She may find inspiration and helpful, murderous tips when watching as action expert “Machete Kills,” or at least wounds, the rest of the competition (and anyone who rejects him). Our cute animated friends hovering under “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” tame for the telekinetic team will, naturally, appeal to a WHOLE OTHER crowd under that spacious cinematic sky. Happily, all of our characters on the big screen, both psycho and scintillating, are doing their part to please.
Why not “Kill Your Darlings” through the kindness of films? Our film fanatics know “12 Years a Slave” to inadequate entertainment is far too long and find freedom waiting at their local multiplex, where one “Runner (after another) Runner” attempts some quick movie hopping. The weather promises smooth sailing within our hopping movie theaters this weekend, no matter what story floats your boat!
