Hobbits Hustle through the Holidays

It’s time for “The American Hustle,” also known as a bundle of blockbuster business, to occur at local movie theaters, where the frenetic pace of holiday shopping is happily replaced by the calm swiftness of quality films. Winning the war against poor pastimes is the crew conducting the beyond-satisfying “Hunger Games: (still) Catching Fire” in our movie-loving community. Also a winner is “The Hobbit: (who denies) The Desolation of Smaug” for a celebratory expedition filled with advanced tickets, appetizing fare and, ultimately, prime seating. Joining him on that compelling journey is the animated gang who hope their success (but not winter) will remain “Frozen” in cinematic time. Newcomers and Santa followers on that profitable voyage are busy “Saving Mr. Banks” from long concession stand lines, knowing Walt Disney and crew are really too big to wait for things like popcorn and profits. Reporting on all the action in his own quirky way is the “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” to capture the most legendary moments on and off camera. All of our characters are expecting “Her” red-carpet entrance, among others, to be grand, as the grandest times are currently playing on the biggest screens. Our new arrivals can expect a warm welcome, as even the naughtiest characters are hoping (in vain) for a spot on the “Nice List.”
With only one week to go until the BIGGEST holiday arrival, the list of superior stars and award-winning performances keeps getting longer…
