Non-Stop Stories Built for the Movie Soul

Action seekers were high jacking the attention away from their land-loving comrades while finding “Non-Stop” adventure from the spacious #1 at the domestic box office this wild, inspiring weekend with $30 million. Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s cinematic “Son of God” found spirit and strength courageously residing at the #2 position with $26.5 million. “The Lego Movie” was slowly being taken apart by the latest competition, breaking down at the #3 place with $21 million. “The Monuments Men” continue to find the artist within, this week from the #4 spot with $5 million. Our hardworking characters had “3 Days to Kill” moviegoers’ thirst for adrenalin-pumping entertainment, seeking peaceful refuge at the neighborhood of #5 with $4.9 killer million.
Before tuning in for the 86th Academy Awards, movie lovers were turning out to see (some of) the greatest stories ever told, preferring the Technicolor screen to the Red Carpet. Action adventure, animation and religious affiliations were all represented this weekend at the movies, adding larger-than-life color to the biggest screens. Art lovers and spirit seekers found solace among their cinematic soul mates, animators continued to build on their toy-loving empire as adventures in the air took glorious flight.
From seaside days to starry nights, may your week ahead be award winning, character building and filled with heart and (cinematic) soul…
