Spectacular Movie Scenes

French poet Victor Hugo once said, “There is one spectacle grander than the sea; that is the sky; there is one spectacle grander than the sky; that is the interior of the soul.”
Last weekend at the movies, we witnessed storms at sea, an outbreak in the sky and the wisdom residing in the holiest of souls, with each tale possessing its own spectacular scenes.
What sights are awaiting us this weekend, you ask?
Well, much-missed “Veronica Mars” hopes to be the first on the (crime-free) scene this weekend, sailing past “Tyler Perry’s The Single Mom’s Club” on her way to solitary success. Our entire roster is filled with quick-witted characters feeling the “Need for Speed” to blockbuster status and box-office sensation. As they burn rubber through Tinseltown, they’ll have to contend with the spiritual realm, where the “Son of God” is being praised, along with the animated kingdom, where “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” are picking up handy tips from “The Lego Movie” (like how to build the biggest audience). Last weekend, nobody’s domain was bigger than “300: (where the) Rise of an Empire” involved winning battles at sea as well as the almighty box office. Will their watery skirmish be the stuff of “Non-Stop” entertainment? Who will construct the biggest crowd this weekend? Can a trip back in animated time compete with sleuths, single moms, speed demons and soul-stirring stories? Might the war on the water clobber them all?
From seaside days to starry nights, by sea or by air (and everywhere in between), a trip to your nearest movie theater promises to produce one spectacular scene after another…
