A Movie Breeze

“April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.” William Shakespeare
Moviegoers of all ages were heading to movie theaters this April weekend, finding youthful spirits and character-driven stories waiting inside.
Still fighting the good fight, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” maintained the hottest spot at the domestic box office for the second week with $41.4 million. The cinematic sky took on a cooler hue this weekend, as newcomer “Rio 2” traveled from the animated Amazon to the #2 spot at the box office with $39 million. Horror was in the movie house, as an ominous “Oculus” captured the #3 spot with $12 million frightening funds. A gentle breeze drifted through a “Draft Day” (and an NFL-inspired movie night) as the Kevin Costner flick breezed right to the #4 position with $9.7 million. Our classy “Divergent” cast rounded out the top five with $7.5 million.
What was happening this weekend at the movies? Well, a Marvel superhero shook hands with the supernatural, social classes were seriously categorized, wild as well as family-friendly animals took off on an animated adventure, and winter was disguised in the form of a soldier as our days turned drafty but entertaining.
From seaside days to starry nights, wherever your travels should lead you, may soulful (and the occasionally scary) story reach right to your forever young heart…
