A Starry Galaxy

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” did their eccentric part guarding the movie galaxy this weekend as they bravely took over the #1 spot at the domestic box office with $94 million (while holding the honor of the most galactic August opening). “Lucy” was last seen using 100% of her brain power to seize the #2 spot with $18.2 million. Audiences decided to “Get on Up” to their local movie theater to check out the James Brown biopic, arriving at the #3 setting with $14 million. More brawn than brain “Hercules” was holding back the rest of the competition from the #4 position with $10.7 million. Dusk was slowly beginning to form for the “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” species as they fell once again, this week watching the sunset from the #5 place with $8.7 million.
A galaxy of celestial beings filled our story universe this weekend, resulting in a super cinematic experience. The stars aligned and the oddballs took center stage as the more conventional heroes hovered protectively behind enjoying the music that filled the cinematic air.
The stage has been set; what story made you see stars this weekend?
