The Guardians Continue to Grow

Reigning champs, the “Guardians of the Galaxy” pulled it off again, protecting the galaxy as well as their top spot at the domestic box office this weekend with $16.3 million (while become 2014’s top-grossing film). The “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” no slouch themselves, rallied to the #2 place with $11.8 million. Audience members wondered would it be worthwhile “If I Stay” until the conclusion of another teary YA adaptation from the #3 spot with $9.2 million. A dark, deadly tale was taking place at regional movie theaters, “As Above, So Below” leveled off above the rest of the pack at the #4 ranking with $8.3 million. The creative kind continued to shout, “Let’s Be Cops,” this week from the #5 spot with $8.2 million.
On this long, holiday weekend, teenagers in the forms of turtles and tortured souls united (before heading back to school), comedy mixed with a bit of crime paid and horror was once again heard as moviegoers looked above, below and everywhere in between for entertainment worth skipping a day at the beach for (where galaxy guardians were naturally in rare lifeguard form).
Where did you find the best entertainment this weekend?
