“The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” finds Bilbo and Company cruising at high velocity to a movie theater near you, where they plan to win the war against the “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” at the festive box office. Following a week at the top spot, the “Exodus: Gods and Kings” are ready to exit stage right while the “Penguins of Madagascar” and the lovable “Big Hero 6” are eagerly completing their last-minute Christmas lists (with thoughts of sugar plums and sweet sequels dancing through their heads).
Feeling lucky to be among last week’s box office “Top Five,” Chris Rock and his entourage are in the holiday spirit, ready to show little orphan “Annie” the Hollywood ropes (with hopes that she won’t steal too much of their thunder). Ben Stiller, meanwhile, is hoping a “Night at the Museum: (will reveal the) Secret of the Tomb” as well as the secret to movie success.
As our cool-but-creative cast get ready for a visit from the always-secretive Santa, one can’t help but wonder during these “Interstellar” days, is there any room on the merry little movie roster for those Scrooge-in-training “Horrible Bosses 2?” Will their lofty positions soon be eliminated?
