“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
With the New Year officially begun, can audiences expect a trip “Into the Woods” to result in a stay at the best box-office position? Maybe movie lovers will find it in their hearts to once again reward “The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” with that coveted site as “The Gambler,” naturally, tries in vain to steal the limelight from our fantasy-driven friends.
Would it be wise to wager against our fantastical friends spending a “Night at the Museum: (following the) Secret of the Tomb?” Will the secretive, “Unbroken” trail to Happily Ever After (i.e. box-office gold) be riddled with lost dreams and an Angelina Jolie drama? Will adorable, hair-challenged “Annie” ever find her way home? Anything-but-adorable “The Woman in Black: Angel of Death,” naturally, would like to send them all on a horrifying trip far removed from moviegoers’ sights.
Whichever story trail you follow all the days to come this year, you can expect a lot of music and a little bit of Meryl, a horror or two, a Hobbit and more than a few comedies and tragedies, wars and even a Wahlberg, all making each cinematic moment THE best day in the year!
Happy 2015 at the movies!
