Moviegoers were forgoing a trip to the beach in favor of a natural disaster (and manmade box-office success) occurring along the shaky San Andreas this weekend, setting a Pitch Perfect 2 start the cinematic fun (and offering our girl group another reason to shake, rattle and roll). One person’s fun was another person’s fury, however, as that temperamental Mad Max: (remained stuck on) Fury Road but fortuitously far removed from the aforementioned massive earthquake. Although the fine folks living in the mystical Tomorrowland did not discover earth-shattering box-office results their first weekend in town, they were happily still in the movie game, offering their select audience a Disney adventure worth enjoying in the present tense as well as in the far-away land of tomorrow known as DVD release. Avengers: Age of Ultron was enjoying the present moment while aging quite well on that timeless big screen.
From the coast of California, the melodic stage, roads of rage and every storytelling page, our cast of characters delivered the coolest road trip the closest to home!
