“Zoo: an excellent place to study the habits of human beings.” Evan Esar
As we near the end of winter, a new imaginative world awaits us mere movie mortals, filled with a Zootopia of study-worthy characters. Will our new species be kicking Kung Fu Panda 3 out of the animated-infested universe? With his head reaching the clouds, might that resourceful Eddie the Eagle find a way to rise above them all?
For the non-PG crowd, champ Deadpool promises to annihilate any cinematic innocence that crosses his path, Triple 9 will be breaking three times as many rules while the Gods of Egypt are praying you’ll buy into their criminal act and buy a darn movie ticket! Those “Gods,” naturally, will not be following the Risen, a story that stresses that ultimately good trumps evil, offering an elevated glimpse of heaven (a place they have little hope of reaching).
Reaching for those heavenly stars now that London Has Fallen, does its action-driven cast have any hope of rising at the box office? Who will be doing the celebratory Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Who will be singing the box-office blues?
On The Other Side of the Door awaits two really creepy worlds, both filled with tragedy, mystery and, if they’re lucky, a huge, horror-loving audience.
As the sun sets over our hopeful, starry-eyed cast, who will rise in our movie world this weekend?
Time will tell…
