The Hero: The Oldest Movie Profession?

Will Rogers once said, “Being a hero is about the shortest-lived profession on earth.” Surely, he couldn’t have been referring to our heroes in the make-believe universe, who have made a longtime career out of saving the cinematic world. The latest professional “killing” came last weekend in the form of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, who profitably mixed it up with a variety of justice-seeking champions. Will justice prevail once again? Is the Pope Catholic (and currently appearing on Instagram?) Meanwhile, has life in the picture-perfect land of earthbound Zootopia been short but sweet?

Those not interested in action or animated stars but always up for a good party were in attendance for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. Will more guests be making an appearance at the latest matrimonial movie? Now that Easter has come and gone, can we expect Miracles From Heaven to be fewer and farther between? Maybe the true (movie) miracle will arrive in those pretty boys and girls starring in The Divergent Series: Allegiant, who continue to prove just how far good looks can take you.

New in town, the pretty spiritual folks declaring, God’s Not Dead 2 anyone who’ll listen eventually Meet the Blacks (hoping to recruit them to the saintly side).

Whether a saint or a sinner, a hero or a hellion, can any good come from not checking out one of our pretty flicks this weekend?
