Movies by the Numbers

The numbers were added up this weekend, with The Accountant methodically coming in ahead of his less-intelligent (and devious) competition. Inside a less-devious movie theater, fans were asking their favorite comedian Kevin Hart: What Now? following his film’s success. Success was still riding the rails with The Girl on the Train, who was getting more puzzled by the minute. As those strange minutes passed by, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children continued to attract a unique audience. Deep within the Deepwater Horizon, moviegoers discovered a slick but stimulating story being told.

Far beyond that inspiring horizon, an eccentric accountant crossed paths with odd children, while a comedian and a confused girl shared common ground.

Which of our unique tales did you find worth sharing this weekend?

Estimated Domestic Box Office Results:

  1. The Accountant $24.7 million.
  2. Kevin Hart: What Now? $12 million.
  3. The Girl on the Train $12 million.
  4. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children $8.9 million.
  5. Deepwater Horizon $6.4 million.
