A Starry Year Begins

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story greeted the new year in high style (while becoming 2016’s second highest grossing domestic film behind Finding Dory), once again spotlighting the biggest and brightest stars. Stargazers and movie lovers of all ages took in the Sing-a-long occurring at their local movie theater, leaving with a song in their hearts guaranteed to keep them warm all winter long. Enjoying their version of a long winter’s nap, those sleepy Passengers awakened to a brand-new year with still-impressive box-office numbers. Moana surfed quite nicely into 2017 while those in search of a bit of comedy once again asked Why Him? of its most questionable star.
With the start of a new year, the stars were in full force, a cinematic song worth remembering filled the air, a time-traveling flight was a real minder bender, animation was sailing sweetly, Franco was still freaky and a movie year worth believing in began!
Which of our believable tales started your year off right?

Estimated Domestic Box Office Results:
1. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story $49.5 million.
2. Sing $42.8 million.
3. Passengers $16.2 million.
4. Moana $11 million.
5. Why Him? $10.6 million.
