WONDER WOMAN brought the girl power to movie theaters this weekend, bringing in the most wonderful box-office results. Absorbed by his own level of “wonderfulness,” CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS: (in his) FIRST EPIC MOVIE revealed more than his unfortunate fashion sense, while those fashionable PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES continued to tell one entertainingly tall tale. Although still a crowd pleaser, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: VOL 2 was taking up decidedly less space in the storytelling galaxy. The BAYWATCH crew, while certainly pretty and fit, had trouble keeping their heads above water, lost in a sea of superstars.
The stars filled our movie space, as a cherished comic book character was killin’ it, animation was a true revelation and Depp ruled the Dead Men (and a lively audience). The galaxy was still profitably guarded and lifeguards, while hardly living large, were too busy beautifying to care.
Which of our beauties made for one carefree weekend?
