The Star of the Party

“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” William Shakespeare
As only true cinematic destiny would have it, Solo: A Star Wars Story grabbed hold of the top spot at the domestic box office, finding the most profitable fate among the stars. Always a star, last week’s champion, Deadpool 2 took a non-chivalrous step down, telling off the aforementioned stars along the way. Avengers: Infinity War was still telling an endless tale, which, of course, sat just right with the ladies comprising the story-filled Book Club. The Life of the Party, meanwhile, was still having a great time among those celestial beings.
During this long, holiday weekend, when summer unofficially started, how many (movie) stars did you count? Did you “marvel” at all that star power while finding the inappropriate hero within, who, by the way, loves to party AND read books?
How much movie love did you pack into your three-day weekend?

Estimated Domestic Box Office Results:
1. Solo: A Star Wars Story $83.3 million.
2. Deadpool 2 $42.7 million.
3. Avengers: Infinity War $16.5 million.
4. Book Club $9.5 million.
5. Life of the Party $5.1 million.
