A Marvel Hero Tramples the Competition

Ant-Man and the Wasp fulfilled their mission and found the view pretty darn nice at the top of the domestic box office this weekend. While they were saving movie lovers from the harmful effects of the sun, the Incredibles 2 were busy keeping both kids and kids-at-heart happy as Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stomped down a couple of notches on the cinematic ladder (while stomping on everyone else in their path). The First Purge eliminated the rest of the competition (but not our need to be scared senseless). Sensing imminent danger, courtesy of so many movies, Sicario: Day of Soldado continued to enjoy his moment in the limelight courtesy of a pretty nasty drug war.
Within our movie kingdom, our summer cast entertainingly rose, we welcomed back a family man who rediscovered the hero within, with some help from his Marvel-ous friends, of course, family remained at the animated front, dinosaurs were naturally still roaming around, horror was in the house, casting darkness over all that summer light while a violent war was brewing (speaking of darkness).
So many stars!
Which of those summer stars brought both light and darkness to your weekend?

Estimated Domestic Box Office Results:

1.Ant-Man and the Wasp $76 million.
2. Incredibles 2 $29 million.
3. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom $28.6 million.
4. The First Purge $17.2 million.
5. Sicario: Day of Soldado $7.3 million.
