Monsters and Melodious Movie Mayhem

Aladdin, courtesy of everyone’s favorite genie, hopes once again to grant wishes and gather a huge crowd. How long will his live-action tale live on? How much more life does Avengers: Endgame possess? Living life to the fullest, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu has been successfully making his case all pre-summer season long. Who will figure out how to take him down?
During these days of natural sunlight and warmth, will Brightburn blaze on or burn out? Will the cool, calculating ladies leading The Hustle ever get on the right side of the law?
Tired of always doing the right thing, can those Booksmart almost graduates outsmart their hardly well-read competitors? Will they be taking a page out of John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum’s book in an effort to “hit” it off with all of the right people?
Soon to hit town and welcomed by the melodious among us, will Rocketman be flying high?
Also soon to be stomping around creating untold chaos, Godzilla: King of the Monsters plans on cinematically crushing them all.
Who will reign supreme this weekend?

Aladdin Aims High

Aladdin and his trusty genie were granted the greatest wish this long weekend at the movies, coming in first at the nostalgia-loving domestic box office. John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum continued to hit it off with his loyal following, Avengers: Endgame showed no end to the Marvel game they were playing as Pokemon: Detective Pikachu unraveled the movie mystery for his longtime fans. Brightburn, meanwhile, lit one seriously frightening flame.
Wishes were granted within our neighborhood movie theaters for “staycationers” and travelers alike, with one celebrated tale after another creating the biggest holiday party. Sequels hit just the right nostalgic note, with all of our stars contributing to one bright, memorable weekend.

Movies Mix with Memorial Day

A long, memorable weekend will soon be upon us, with a visit to our local movie theaters, where legends are naturally born, sure to be on our To Do List. The legendary Aladdin (and genie) is back, ready to grant our every entertainment wish. Will he be living a street urchin’s dream come true? How much fun will our Booksmart almost graduates be having? Will they reach the head of the class or settle for a lowly box-office local?
Following the theory that stars burn their brightest before they’re gone, what can we expect to be going on courtesy of that sinister child creating Brightburn? Will he follow his ever-present darkness into the cinematic light, where The Tomorrow Man is searching for love in the present? Walking along on A Dog’s Journey, however, might provide them both with a bit of much-need PG perspective.

The girls pulling off The Hustle could probably use a more virtuous outlook as could John Wick: Chapter 3 Parabellum, who’s always on the lookout no matter what movie stage we find him.
Living happily in the present, profitable moment, Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, perceptive observer that he is, is constantly on watch, checking out his competition while solving whatever blockbuster-worthy case crosses his path. Avengers: Endgame, also keen competitors, are firmly on guard and determined to remain in the game and scope out the competition all while keeping the movie world safe. A tall order, but luckily, a huge film.
Which of our tall tales will you cross paths with this long, holiday weekend?

Movie Hits and Heroes

John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum was a box-office hit, hitting it off with the biggest audience at the domestic box office this weekend. Despite taking a step down, the games were far from over for Avengers: Endgame, still entertaining from beginning to end. Pokemon: Pikachu Detective continued doing battling with the big guys while revealing the most fun at the movies, A Dog’s Journey led to bittersweet places and The (more bitter than sweet) Hustle was still stealing the show.
So many lovable scene stealers this starry weekend! There was Reynolds, Reeves and even Rebel, crossing paths with man’s best friend and Marvel’s most magnificent “frenemies.”
Which of our starry-eyed lovers crossed your path this weekend?

Detecting the Next Movie Chapter

As we get closer to summer and more movies enter the fierce, storytelling ring, can we expect Pokemon: Detective Pikachu to lead us through the complicated twists and turns that abound in this imaginative universe? Who will get lost along the way? Will it be the Poms, who really could use all the cheer they can get? Will the Long Shot experience a short stay at the box office, with the all-mighty Avengers: Endgame ending the majority of its less-marvelous competition?
Will the light surrounding our in-need-of-love Ugly Dolls soon be dimmed even more, with A Dog’s Journey offering a prettier view?Just how bright will The Sun is Also a Star shine?
Might The Hustle result in all the inappropriate fun the law allows, with The Intruder, well, intruding on any and all illegal activity?
Finally, will that infamous, never-on-the-right-side-of-the-law John Wick: (living within) Chapter 3: Parabellum be a hit? Who will that guy be killing, cinematically speaking?
Ready for a killer weekend at the movies?

Marvel Detects the Biggest Audience

In honor of all things movie (and Mom), Marvel once again took the top spot at the domestic box office, as Avengers: Endgame remained in it to win it. Pokemon: Detective Pikachu was on the case this story-filled weekend, discovering his own loyal crowd. The girls within The Hustle stole moviegoers’ attention, pushing their competitors out of the way while The Intruder, not one to be pushed around, continued to invade our crowded, cinematic space. The Long Shot remained in the comedic running, much to the delight of the politically incorrect everywhere.
Although it was fun having one around, it clearly did not require a detective to discover Summer Blockbuster Season already in full swing, where Marvel remained at the top of their game, a couple of cool cons created comedic results and politics produced profits as audiences welcomed the most entertaining intrusions into their weekend.
Which of our profitable tales made your weekend more entertaining?

Estimated Domestic Box Office Results:
1. Avengers: Endgame $65 million.
2. Pokemon: Detective Pikachu $58 million.
3. The Hustle $13.5 million.
4. The Intruder $6.6 million.
5. Long Shot $6.1 million.

Detecting an Entertaining Movie Weekend

There’s an embarrassment of storytelling riches this upcoming weekend at the movies. Who will discover the biggest audience in our competitive galaxy of stars? Will it be new-in-town and looking-for-trouble Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, who plans on giving unstoppable champion Avengers: Endgame a run for the top box-office spot? What about The Intruder? How much longer will he be cinematically stalking us? Will discovering how to take that tough team of interlopers down be the ultimate Long Shot? Who will be getting your vote?
After locating the lovely colors within, can the Ugly Dolls find a more beautiful box-office location? With so many pretty people to choose from, who will be cheering on those age-defying Poms?
Will Captain Marvel continue to settle for the Avengers’ hero-worshiping leftovers?
Who will be left standing after The Hustle, and its con-artist crew, show up to steal audiences by doing whatever it takes?
What movie will you be taking in this weekend?
